2023 Update- All Inclusive Resort Review: Iberostar Lindo

February 2023 we headed back to the Riviera Maya for our 3rd stay at the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo; 4th time on the property (first stay Feb. 2019 at the Maya-next door) and this also marked our 10th all inclusive vacation. We were very excited to be back! I wrote a review of this all inclusive resort back in 2020 if you want to compare. Like I talked about in my post on the benefits of going back to a resort you’ve already been too this trip was something we had been looking forward to since our last stay in 2021. In this post we’ll explore the topics of room, food, entertainment/activities, and the grounds.

Reminder that the Iberostar Playa Paraiso complex is 5 total all inclusive resorts starting with the Grand at the highest level and ending with the Beach and Del Mar. This makes the Lindo right in the middle, sharing the same pool area and a number of restaurants with the Maya. By staying at the Lindo you can also eat at any of the Beach and Del Mar restaurants as well, giving you many options!

Room

We had a standard room with a king size bed; it was on the 3rd floor with a view off the balcony of the wave pool area. Normally we get rooms with walk in showers, but this time we had a room with a bathtub/shower combo. The room was very spacious for 2 people.

Food

Food is something I always look forward to when coming back here. There are so many ala carte restaurant options not just at the Iberostar Lindo, but also at the Del Mar and Beach. You could try something new every night. We have never had many issues getting reservations for these restaurants; I think if you have a larger group or it’s a busier time at the resort then you might run into issues. We checked in on a Tuesday evening and nothing was available early enough for us (we didn’t want to eat at 9pm), but we were able to get a reservation every night after. Some of our favorites include the El Rancho Steakhouse, which is actually located at the Maya; it never disappoints. My favorites are the prime rib and their ceasar salad, made right at the table. The Japanese Hibachi at the Beach resort is also very good and an extra fun time! The Trattoria Olivetti is their Italian restaurant and the pasta there is top notch and can’t walk away without getting tiramisu for dessert. This trip we also checked out the El Tapatío Mexican restaurant and it was delicious. I tried the shrimp tacos and my husband enjoyed the beef burrito. Presentation is always A+ at these places! El Mueso is the French Gourmet at the Lindo and it was a set menu with multiple courses; it took us about 2 hours to complete our meal. The main course was surf and turf: lobster tail and short rib. It was melt in your mouth good! As you can tell dinner is my favorite meal of the day especially at these all inclusive resorts.

For breakfast you can find a few options. At the Lindo you can eat at their main buffet (La Pagoda) or you can eat at the El Tapatio a little later for a slightly smaller breakfast buffet. There is also the option of getting coffee/tea and a pastry or sandwich at the Star Cafe near the Lindo lobby. If you’re feeling a little adventurous you are more than welcome to walk next door to either the Del Mar or Beach breakfast buffets as well. We have not done that, but they do have the whole open air atmosphere going for them, so if that’s your thing. Lunch also comes with many options including multiple buffets. By the beach there is a snack bar which serves burgers, sandwiches, fries. In the shopping mall, which is a little bit of a walk there’s Taki To where they serve tacos, quesadillas, nachos and delicious chicken burritos. Lastly, a fun option if you’re looking to take a little more time for your lunch break you can order off the menu at the Italian restaurant at the Lindo, steps from the pools. This has become something I’ve really looked forward to as it just elevates your lunch to another level. There caprese salad is presented beautifully and tastes even better!

Tip: If you’re looking for a low key evening, but don’t want to eat at the buffet you can always order room services (yes, it’s included) or there is food served at the sports bar.

Entertainment/Activities

Entertainment has changed over the last year or two and I mentioned that in my review of the Iberostar Playa Mita. Instead of larger shows there are what I’d consider smaller entertainment options. At the theater we watched a couple shorter half hour type music shows, which I have to admit were a lot of fun! They do the show twice so in between the Star Friends put on some kind of fun game where people from the audience participate. Honestly I kinda enjoy these options as the first show starts a bit earlier in the night. There’s a fire show, but unfortunately we did not get to see it. During the day there’s the same entertainment there always has been; yoga, water aerobics, darts, volleyball, crazy pool games, to name a few. While we were there we enjoyed 2 foam parties, which was an absolute blast; great music and energy!

Grounds

As I described in my first post about the Lindo, the Iberostar Playa Paraiso complex is beautiful! You could spend hours/days walking around and taking everything in. We love walking on the Beach and Del Mar properties as they are older and have a more dense jungle type feel in places plus a lot of wildlife. Everyday before breakfast we would take a walk; a great way to start the day and since the property is so large you have many route options.
